Hi friend, are you looking to age healthfully, confidently and vibrantly? Then this podcast is for you. Smart, slightly salty, irreverent, and thought provoking. I'm Lauren Bernick and this is age. Like a badass mother. Hi, friend. Okay. Today I want to talk to you about an issue that whenever anybody goes wholefood, plant based or vegan, everybody flips out and says, where will I get my protein? And this has just been drilled into us, you know, mainly by people who sell things with protein in it, like beef or dairy. And they want us to believe that we're just going to wither away and be rushed to the hospital with protein deficiency. But the truth is, you know, you know, a lot of people and stop and think about the people that you know who have been rushed to the hospital with protein deficiency. That number would hover around zero. I'm sure. But what about the people you know with cancer? Heart disease? Those are our number one and two killers of Americans. And that largely comes from eating a diet that is too high in animal protein. So I had, Juliana Haver on and she is episode 28. It's a good one to go back and listen to. She went over the protein recommendations for we did it based on, oh, a 140 pound woman. And this is on the really high end of protein. If you wanted to get a lot of protein, which is fine, it's good when you're getting older to have a lot of protein, but it can come from plants. So a 140 pound woman, who's on get wanting to get the high end of protein would eat 50 to 60g of protein a day. So how do you do that on a whole food plant based diet? Okay, let's start with breakfast. A half a cup of oatmeal has seven grams. A cup of soy milk has seven grams. Two tablespoons of hemp hearts, ten grams a tablespoon of flaxseed meal two grams the tablespoon of chia seeds four grams in a cup of blueberries one gram. That's already 31g of fiber. You're more than halfway there. So lunch a salad with a quarter cup of dressing made from hummus. The hummus a quarter cup of that is five grams. Add a cup of black beans. That's 15g. Okay, you're already there. That's 20g. And you had 31g for breakfast. So that's already 51g of protein. Now let's add in dinner. Let's have some lentil tacos made with a cup of lentils. A cup of lentils is 18g of protein that puts you at 68g of protein a day. You're already exceeding the high end of protein. Are you getting the point that it's easy to do this? Or you could have had a two thirds cup of chickpea pasta for 12g. A cup of broccoli has 2.5g. If you want a high protein snack, a cup of edamame has 18g of protein, a cup of quinoa, eight grams a cup of brown rice, five grams a quarter cup of walnuts, five grams a cup of kale has two grams and a cup of broccoli has 2.5g. So I hope that you're seeing that getting protein on a whole food plant based diet is easy, and you never have to worry that you're not going to get enough protein as long as you're eating, you know, legumes, which are beans, peas and lentils, whole grains like oats and quinoa and brown rice. And you're eating your fruits and your vegetables. You're adding some ground flaxseed meal or chia seeds. It's easy. And you can also email me at Lauren at age like about us mother, if you have any questions about this. Now, let's get started. Oh! Thank you so much. So delighted to be here, chatting with you today. I'm delighted to meet you. You seem to so lovely. And, you know, I know that you've been doing this. You said for over a decade. But what were you doing before that? How did you come to this? You know, I think, like many people, I was very connected to spirit as a child. And then it it kind of got taught out of me that it was a little bit strange. It was the 70s and, and, you know, it was a little bit weird to be talking to angels and telling people things that I couldn't have known. So, honestly, it was a kind of push down, like it was just this inner thing that I had that was a bit of a secret. And it would start to kind of leak out, and then I would get this feedback that it was wrong or it was weird or, you know, all those things kind of mirrored back to me until I was in my early 40s, like 15 years ago. And I always say the pain of being inauthentic got so loud that I could no longer have that mask of being a person that wasn't authentic. I wasn't listening to my light. I wasn't following my path. I had a great career as a musician, married four wonderful kids. But it just came knocking. You know, it's like you've got to listen. It is your path to help people, to tune in and to know who they are at their core of their being. And it it was messy. It was messy coming back to that. But it's become the greatest joy of my life. Oh, my gosh, that's such a good lessons. What? What kind of musician were you. A pianist. I played the pipe organ and the piano, and I taught piano for years. And I also, worked in the area of musical theater. Oh. That's cool. And so how do these what, do you hear things? Or do you feel things or how do you receive messages? So many of ways. The the strongest way I receive is through Clair audience, through hearing. But it's not always like words. It's like impressions. It's like, I, I just know things with my ears. And so we're like, how did this present itself when you were a child. It, I was really I was really sick the first couple of years of my life. And it's kind of a funny story now, but they had no idea what was wrong with me. It was like the late 1960s, spent like two years almost in the hospital until I was finally diagnosed with celiac disease, which now we think is just like, you know, 1 in 100 people have it. It's not a big deal. But nobody knew what it was at that time. So my angels were my friends. It was a time when parents and families weren't staying with you in the hospital. You were on your own, right? And I think my mom was able to come up for 20 minutes every day or something like that. And so the angels were were my my protectors, my playmates, my healers. And so when I came home from the hospital, I have I have so many memories of just, you know, being with my angels all the time until I think around the age of five, where it was like, okay, time to stop playing make believe. You know, it's getting a little weird, right? Who? Somebody told you that? Yeah. There was an incident where, there was a. I must have been five because I hadn't quite gone to school full time yet. And there was a huge angel on the neighbor's lawn, and I told the neighbor that meant that somebody was going to cross, that somebody was here to to bring them home. And, You were five telling this to the neighbor like a grown up. Like a grown up and, you know, and and, you know, sadly, her husband passed and and it just was, you know, who is this weird little kid on the block like it was the 70s? People weren't talking about this stuff. Like, now, anywhere I go, I can say I'm a medium and I speak to angels and people are like, cool. Cool, cool, cool. Who can you speak to for me? Not in the 70s, right? Right. Yeah. And so. Well, what did your parents think when you had when you told the the neighbor, like, somebody's going to cross and then somebody did, like what? What did what did they say? Don't do that. Yeah. Pretty much you know, this is a this isn't an appropriate behavior. You know, people don't want to hear these kinds of things. Like it wasn't it wasn't, it wasn't handled well. And I later found out that my mom also had these sensations and these knowingness, and it had gone so badly for her whenever she shared it that she she just didn't want that for me. Right. I was actually going to ask you if your mom or somebody else in your family had that, because that's how that usually goes. Oh man. That's. And it's so interesting because like my nana, my mom's mom openly read tea leaves, but nobody thought anything of that. You know, all the women would get together after church on Sundays and read their tea leaves. And that was just something fun to do. So there was kind of like this bleeding through always, but you didn't really talk about it. Oh, man, that's interesting. Okay. And then so you have this pain like you're like, okay, I have to live authentically. And then so did you have to redevelop your gifts or were they just kind of there or how did that go? I yeah, I think I took a mediumship course and just, you know, opened up. But it was also after years of being pushed down, it was, it was scary for me. Right? All of a sudden be opened up and to, to be sitting in a restaurant and, and seeing people around people because I didn't really understand how to, how to contain it, how to put boundaries around it. So it was it was kind of scary for a while. It was overwhelming. I definitely didn't talk about it much, which I think when we're first opening up, it's kind of this private thing. And I didn't I don't know how long it took me to really trust it, like, it, it it took time and it took took trust and it took faith. And I think one day my my youngest came home from school and she must have been in grade 10 or 11 and she was in a class. And the the teacher was debunking mediumship. And her friend turned around to her and said, but isn't your mom a medium? And when she came home with this story, I thought, okay, if my kids are seeing this, you know, then it's okay to start talking about it, start being more real about it, because obviously I must be talking about it if they're seeing it. Yeah. Gosh. And so, do you so you you keep talking about angels. So do you see angels when you see them around people or. I see lights, I see orbs and and I feel them and I feel different, different colors, like different rays of angels. So the the Elohim, the seven rays of angels, I will see different colors. Like, there's a lot of I'll be out and they'll be a lot of orange around somebody, and then I can kind of know what the angels are helping them with at that time. What are the I. I've never heard of that. The Elohim, the seven angels or can you. So yeah, those are Elohim are like the seven rays of light, the seven, sacred fires. You'll hear some people call them. So a lot of people are are familiar with, the violet ray of transmutation or the green ray of healing or, you know, the white ray of faith. So it's like the seven different colors. And the Elohim are a group of angels who look after these flames of light. Oh, wow. I never heard of that. Is there? Do you see anything around me? Like a certain color? There's some pinks and definitely some some. There was some oranges coming through. Yeah, there's there's lots of colors and there's lots of orbs. I think that you have a large team on the other side. So you've had some, some grief. You you've moved through some losses and, and they're definitely, you know, always with you. But I think you feel that. Yeah. For sure. Yeah. What is orange and pink. What are those mean? So orange. Can be it can be a couple of things. Usually it's about courage. Usually that you're going through something, that that requires a bit of more of that heart. Courage. And the pink is the unconditional love of knowing that no matter what you're going through, you are okay. Yeah, I think that that's actually pretty true. I think the the courage is, you know, this is something that the, the main reason I brought you on is because I feel like this is such a time in our lives, especially women like, you know, their 50s or beyond that, we finally do get a chance for ourselves to move forward and to choose what we want to choose. And I guess, you know, this is a fairly new move for me to have a podcast. You know, it's been about a year. And to I'm writing a book and I'm really in a I am in a new phase of my life. And it does take daily courage talking myself through it, because it's difficult to change. But I know that I'm on my path and you know, and I feel that. So can you talk a little bit about this, part of our lives? I think you you said that, you know, you are really want to present about living with a peaceful heart, a relaxed nervous system system and a sense of connection that allows you to age with intention or gentleness, but also like embracing this part of life. Right? Well, they call it, you know, the wisdom years or in, in call it the, the age of the crone, which is, you know, the, the wise woman. Right. Like we've been through, you know, maybe some careers, we've changed careers, we've raised children. If that's been part of our we've definitely by this time gone through some losses, gone through some difficulties, some traumas. And when we come back home to having that, that heart led life, living in that place of peace and centered, and we we decide that, you know, this whole anxiety and stuff that's going on in the world. I'd rather embody this peace. We start to tune into our own wisdom and our own inner knowingness, and life just gets a little more simple, a little more graceful, and a little more. We just trust more. We trust ourselves more, and we trust life more. Yeah, that's really true. I think that's been the biggest gift, is to feel like I don't need to look to other people for answers. They don't know better than I do about myself, or where I'm going or what I'm doing. And I feel like this is the first time in my life that I really trust myself like that. And that is so beautiful to have that with me. What? Oh, we get beyond that phone a friend, you know, when we were late 30s or 40s and we're trying to figure stuff out. We phone a friend and we talk it through for two hours and write blank, blame everybody else and don't take responsibility. And then we come into this, this wisdom, this wise heart where we take responsibility for who we are, how we act, how we interact. And we know that, it's our inner knowingness that matter. But what do you say to somebody who's not quite there yet, who maybe hasn't learned to to trust his or her self yet? How do you how do you learn that or what do you do? You know, I, I always say find a tool that works for you, whether it's, you know, start with a guided meditation, start with some breathwork, start with something that steals your mind because it's everything that you're thinking that's distracting you from that inner voice. Find a way to some people like get out in nature or touch a tree. How do you get to that point where your thoughts just slow down enough that you can hear your heart? And so try different methods, listen to different teachers and find something that allows you to connect with the core of who you are instead of thinking about it. That's good, because I think people can overthink things. Is that is that how you deal with anxiety, too? I think people are so anxious, like, how do you what's your advice for dealing with anxiety? So anxiety. I think we've gotten to a point where we say, I am anxious. There's all these things going on in my life and it's keeping me up and and I am anxious. And if we can flip that switch just a little bit too, I'm experiencing anxiety. It allows us to step back a little bit. Okay, what is this about? And really look at it. Almost hold it outside of you. What what am I anxious about? What am I experiencing with this anxiety? And can I find a way to embody peace instead? And so I say, think of a memory of a time in your life when you absolutely felt at peace. For me, it's when I'm kayaking on a beautiful lake and the sun is shining and the blue clouds, and bring in that feeling of peace and bring that into your heart so you can really know the difference in your body between how peace feels and how anxiety feels, and then start to kind of play with it. What is this anxiety about what's happening? Do I have any control over it? Is it actually true? Is it even mine? Start to question it and kind of release that identity of I am anxious. I think that a lot of people do kind of get hooked on that. Like I'm an anxious person or I, you know, and it can be like a crutch. And I know that a lot of people do have anxiety. I'm not trying to Pooh Pooh that because I, I realize that a lot of people have anxiety and there's a lot to be anxious about, but you know it. So the tools would be meditation, breathing, being in nature, what else to trying different things. Just trying different things, working, you know, listening to different people, listening to different meditation types and just, you know, allowing yourself time to be off the screen, not thinking about anything like, like when we were, were little and we would daydream, like, bring that back into your life where you allow yourself time to be quiet, look at your life. Is is there any room where I'm ever quiet, where I'm ever alone, where there isn't? You know, some kind of black box blaring something? Where can I bring quiet and solitude into my life and maybe it's just putting a screensaver somewhere. That's a beach scene. And can you just close your eyes and bring that into form and find some quiet? Because we are so inundated with noise and not just noise in, in the physical sense, just energy coming at us all the time from everything in our world. It's noisy out there. It is. It's hard. What we started talking about this a little bit because this is a time of, I think, reinvention in pursuing your purpose. And so going back to that, a little bit like. How do you know what your purpose is or how do you know you're on the right path? So the interesting thing is we have this fixation of being on this path and our purpose and to me, our purpose is to remember that we are beings of light, having a human experience, and to allow our light to shine and to allow our light to lead us to experiences that will light us up even more. And so that, to me, is coming into that, that coherence, that heart coherence, that unconditional love for self and that knowing that I am being led by my own light and that is my purpose to to connect into that. Okay. That's so, important what you just said, because even I just said that like ten times I'm on my path or I'm. But yes, you're right, it's not. It's just not my path. It's like what lights me up. Right? And this is the kind of thing that lights me up. Talking to people, sharing ideas, trying to help expand other people's, you know, consciousness or showing them what's out there. So it it is that's really it. Just like tuning in to like what makes you happy when you get excited talking about something, that kind of thing. Is that what you're saying? Well, I think we've been so conditions that our path needs to be about doing. We have to do more. And it's more if you tune in to how you're feeling right now, when you're doing something you love, it's more about being in coherence with yourself. So instead of doing things, notice how you feel right now. You're lit up. You're loving this. You're being with your light. And so if we can find more times of being and less times of doing, it really opens up so much for us. Oh man, that's so that's really good advice. You did good, Laurie. That's good advice. I like that, I feel like the same thing, like, well, how do we get clarity, like when it's time to make a big decision? You know, when we were talking about trusting yourself before, is that kind of the same thing? Just are is your advice for everything? Just be. Be quiet. Listen to yourself. Is that kind of like everything? I mean, we have this this tool within us called discernment, and we're getting a little bit better at it. And many of us will know when we make a decision, when it feels like it's not in alignment, and then we'll correct course afterwards. But there is a way to make the decision in the first place. And that is just a little bit of, of looking at will be thinking through something, and we'll know what our head is saying and then we just take a breath, put your hands on your heart, feel your energy, move into your heart and say, I know what my head says. What does my heart say? And your heart will always give you the answers that will lead you to the most expansion. There will be times when you'll go, yeah, that I don't want to do that. I mean, you have free will. You don't have to follow it, but you will find that road a little bit bumpier than if you followed what your heart said. So you're saying that you should listen to your heart. Your heart is so over your head. If you think about something right now where you're trying to make a decision in your life and you just okay, I've thought these same thoughts about it a thousand times. I know what these thoughts are, and if you put your hand on your heart and just feel your energy come down, just ask your heart, what do you think? What do you say about this? You'll get an answer that's completely aligned. And then the trick is to trust. And then to trust. Yeah. It's all the, all the things we've been learning like I think we are getting better at it. So too because we can know what it feels like when things aren't aligned and we think, oh why did I come down this road? And then we have the tendency to kind of beat ourselves up a little bit, which is is hard on us. And if we can, when we make a decision that isn't aligned and we're like, okay, this isn't working, can we just say, okay, I tried it didn't work out, let's go somewhere else. Instead of beating ourselves up. Right. Because it always teaches us something. We always get something else for, for our toolbox. Like you were saying, it's never a wasted lesson or moment or anything like that. What do people come to you for? What are like when they come to, to. And also you're what what's going on with your life? Is that something you're doing or is you're. No, it's it's as I speak and my light changes and it's it's always moving and changing. Okay. Because I've been trying to ignore this for a long time. And I'm like, yeah, she has a light in there. But no, your light if you guys are not, most people are just listening. But if you're watching this on YouTube, I don't know if you'll be able to see this, but her light is literally changing. It keeps going from like a white ish to an orange to it. Like, it's literally just keeps pulsating. I mean. Thought for a while that it was, you know, like my light. And so, yeah, many different lights. And then I realized, no, it's just my it's just by being. I mean, it's crazy. It's like a disco in your thing. It is. Yeah. People will stop me and say, you know, like there's, like, so much pink around you. Or do you, you know, like, I can see your arm. Sometimes when my arm moves, you can see, like white around like the luminous. Anyways, it's. It's, Yeah, I did you see that when you put it down. I didn't see it at first, but when you put it down, I did see it. Okay. Because we are luminous beings of light that you are other than our physical being. Right? And the more that we step into our light, the more that other people begin to see it. And then that light starts to remind them of who they are. Okay, this is crazy. Like this is not, this isn't really the conversation that I thought we were going to have, which is great, because I always love just seeing where I think we both said that. Let's just see where this goes. Because, I, you know, I know and and also, I know there's people going to be like, all right, I'm not listening to this one. These people are crazy. And that's fine, too, because, we we want the people to listen who need this or who who think, okay, that makes sense. Like to be a luminous being and to step into our light. That makes sense to me. But like, I really I can literally see it with you. This is so nuts. So this happens in person too. Like people can see, like serenity. Yeah, it does. And I think this is where. We're all. Where we're all if we're talking, we're on this Ascension timeline moving into we've all heard of moving from 3D to five D. We're just stepping more into being our luminous selves. And so our eyes, the rods and the cones are now starting to be able to see it. Oh, Because we're all we're all upgrading. Right. And we feel this in our world. That's why we feel such a, a division in our world. Like everything's black or white, because it feels like these are those, these energies that are playing out that are just like these fight good, bad, right, wrong energies. But then on the other side, we're feeling like these, these this light and this, this peace and this we can, we can kind of see both ends of the spectrum right now. Yeah. How do you even reconcile that? Because there is so much going on that seems like it's really an upheaval. And then there is that same thing where you like this, where I can literally see your light shining out of you. How do you reconcile that? What what was going on exactly? Well, I think we get to a point where we we decide where we want to focus our energy. So for me, I'm very much focused on the light. It's not that I don't know what's going on in the world, but when I know that there's pockets of of energy around the world where people are suffering, I'm sending light. Like I'm very much focused on the light. So. Because where, where we focus, then that energy expands in our physical life. So if we're focused on all the the drama and the trauma and everything going on, then we we will be reflected more of that in our, in our lives. And we've all been in situations where we've really gotten into somebody else's stuff, and then we start to feel it ourselves in our own lives. And we we get to choose, am I going to focus on this or am I going to focus on the light? And once you start to focus on on the light, you notice that there's so much more light in this world. There's so much more light in people. Then there is the drama and the trauma and the grief. There's the light is so, expansive and exponential once you start to put your focus there. You know, and I'm sure you feel the same way. I feel like a lot of this, anger and, you know, divisiveness is manufactured for the benefit of people in power. It helps them, like when we're all divided. But but then you see something like a terrible flood or a fire on TV, and you just see everybody running to help each other, and they don't stop and say like, are you Democrat or Republican? Like they, you know, they just run to help each other. Like when you're in a pinch, people know, like, oh, we're just people. We're just humans. Right. And you do see that? Oh, and so I guess you're saying light? Light begets light. So if you're just focusing more on and and what can we do to do that just really start to notice the good things or. Right. How do we you. Know, I mean, the whole, gratitude word sometimes gets a bad rap, but it's finding things that. Are. More. Give an example. Someone reached out to me the other day and said, you know, I just feel so alone. I can't find any light in my world. I said, find three things. Even if it's your pillow, even if it's your toothbrush, even if it's the glasses on your face that that make your life better and focus on those instead of focusing on everything that's not going right. And that's kind of the essence of gratitude. Where can you find things in your life like, do you have a roof over your head? Do you have food to eat? Do you have fresh water? Do you can you, you know, wash your clothes? Like all the things we take for granted and start to focus on that and those things and just notice how that feels in your body. And then you almost get, almost get addicted to that, that sense of, oh, this is, this is supporting me. I have I have a chair I'm sitting on, I have a microphone I'm talking into, I have these beautiful your ear EarPods. Like what? What is good in your world? I think you're right. I, I just, I think by nature Im a grateful, optimistic person. I think that that's just kind of baked into me. I've always been like that. And, but I do. I walk around like that all day and I'm like, oh, this is so wonderful. Or that you know, and it and I, I started out that way, but it, it really does build on itself. And I really, do kind of make that it like just happened so much during, during my day. But even when I was a little kid, I don't know, I mean, I don't think I understood those words, but I always like, tried to focus on what was good, even when, you know, if rough things were happening around me. So it is a practice. It really is. And kindness to being kind to others is a practice as well. Putting yourself out there a little it's a little bit sometimes, you know, it's hard to extend yourself in kindness sometimes because you're worried what the other people think. Are they going to think I'm goofy or crazy or, you know, right. What's your experience with that? I think for me, it's about coming into compassion for everyone's journey. Everyone is here having a journey and, you know, life is, is hard. We get some hard knocks. And so having compassion, even if someone is acting in a certain way that feels, that feels, you know, angry or mean or something kind of looking to the core essence of them and having compassion for them on their journey changes how you see other people. Yeah, that's really true. Yeah. It is. I used to, a long time ago, I had this sales job when I was in college, and they brought in this person who was, I don't know if they were trained by Tony Robbins, but we had a lot of, like, Tony Robbins type training, and this is a, like 30 years ago. This was a long time ago, or more than 30 years ago. And I remember one of the practices that we had to do, we had to sit across from another sales person, and I was with this girl who I liked her, but I just she got on my nerves a lot, but and we just had to sit there and look into each other's eyes. I think it was like three minutes, which when you are just sitting there looking into somebody's eyes for three minutes, it seemed like four hours. But by the end we were both crying because you can't help but just sit and look into somebody's eyes and not see their joy, their passion, their sorrow, their everything. And, after that, I was like, I love her. She never got on my nerves again, you know? Right. And then it said, the eyes are the windows of the soul. Right. So looking into someone's eyes, it, it brings us into that heart coherence of that compassion for who they are and what they're experiencing. Yeah. And you know, that was another thing about being in sales for so long was that, you have to find somebody, something you like about that person or you can't, you can't form a relationship with them and, you know, blah, blah, blah. And so no matter who it was for years, 25 years, I always had to be like, okay, what do I like about this person even though they're cranky or they're this or they're that? What do I like? And so that's also been a really good practice for me. And I think that that's, such a good lesson in life to just try to what what do I like about this person? You know, I mean, that's so good. What what are some. Okay, so I think I before we started talking about your, disco that you have going on around you, we started talking about I asked you why people come to you, like, what are they having blockages in their life or grief or why did they come to you? You know, it's it's a variety of reasons. I do one on one sessions. I love to work with people individually. And I have a longer, like 12 week container for that where we just get really honest about what we're ready to release for beliefs and conditioning and, and everything that has brought them to this moment in time. And then we spend time connecting them with their hearts and with what I call their team in spirit, and so that they become, more internally focused. And as that happens, then all of their gifts, if you want to say it, and abilities start to come online and they start to really connect with who they are and their team and they it's it's fun. It's it's I'm going to use the word fun to watch them come into. I call it tune into your soul essence, tune in to who you are and how you connect in this world and how how life is working for you. And life is working for you and through you. Not to you. Yeah, yeah. That's oh my gosh. And so do we each you mentioned I had like a lot of I guess angels or people or people who've passed on around me. Do, do we all have that. Everybody has like a team. How many people or what are these? These are angels, right? Not. And yeah, also people who have passed. Angels and and guides and mentors and people who have passed. And we all have these. It's always interesting when when I take people into a meditative journey and I've studied shamanism. So we move energy really quickly. And they see how huge their team is, and they see that they were the one in their team that was brave enough to be incarnate at this time of great change, and that they have, you know, hundreds of of members of their team and their teams are kind of fluctuating depending on what we're working on. We'll have our core team, but then different angels, different guides will come in depending on what we're going through, what we're expanding through. But yeah, we have huge teams. It's always like just just legions and legions of of angels and guides. What are they doing for us? And also, can I just say one more thing? This is crazy. I've never seen this happen. So we're in this recording studio. And when I guess people won't see this in the video, but when I talk, it's purple. And when a guest talks, it's purple around their box. And it's always been that way. Except yours also changes to yellow, which has never happened in a year. Yours goes from purple sometimes to yellow like you are really, making lights and energy happen like I've never seen before. Yeah, it just did. It just went yellow. So it's, my guides will always tell me, like, color is sound and sound is color. And we're moving into a time where we will be healing through color and sound and frequency. And I love that people have really embraced going to a sound baths or working with, you know, art and color and, and, and we have kind of forgotten how potent color is in our lives. And, and when I talk to people and I say, well, how do you feel when you have that red shirt on? And they feel powerful? Like tuning into color is, is really potent. And so, yeah, color is always around me. That's it's koku. I've never seen that before. I've never seen it. And I've interviewed, you know, 100 people and nobody's ever had that any other color than purple. But yours is like purple sometimes, and then sometimes yellow. It's nuts. I don't even remember what I just asked you be. And and those are the two flames that I carry the most. The purple purple and yellow of transformation. And the gold is is is the heart. And like the the the connection energy. My gosh. Oh, I asked you what these, these beings are doing for us. Like what? What do they do for us? How how are they helping us? I mean, we come with one goal or like what? What's happening? I think we come with it with a soul plan. That's kind of like an outline. And then we make our way through it, and they're there to help us, to navigate it. Now they're not going to, step over our free will, but they are. They're kind of, the way they show me kind of paving the way in the background. But once we connect into them more fully, more consciously, then they can really step up and give us messages and support and clarity and humor. They come through with a ton of humor because they always say, it's not meant to be so serious. You're here to play, you're here to experiment. You're here to have fun. But somewhere along the line, it's become this serious business of life, too. They put people in our paths. Yeah. Yes. Yeah. For sure. If we're asking something or we're thinking about something and think about when this has happened to you and then all of a sudden you overhear a conversation and you're like, oh, that's what I was just thinking about. Or a friend calls and they have the same kind of experience, or you see a license plate or you see a billboard or some a song comes on, you know, they're they're helping to orchestrate that all the time. Okay. Yeah. So the things that I think, also, we've had enough life now to know that, okay, these aren't all coincidences. We all are starting to recognize that. But so that's what they're doing. They're helping that. And yeah. Are these also like relatives and and ancestors and people who have passed on. They can be they can be for sure. Yeah. My mom, passed when I was in my mid 20s. And she's definitely very, very present for me. And always has been. And then the I will often connect into, a team of what I call the ancestral grandmothers. And they are just like everyone's grandma, right? You know, they're the wise ones. They're they're the ones that I'll go to for wisdom. And this it's something that, I work on in my course, I help people to build, like, this inner soul sanctuary where they can go within and and meet with whoever they need to meet with and chat and get clarity on things and support and, it becomes like this. Our inner life gets more important, and then that starts to be reflected in our outer life, if that makes any sense. I like can you explain that a little more? Yeah, it's a little bit of, so one of the ways that it becomes easiest for me to explain is like to explain, my soul sanctuary or some of my clients. So it's always about going to a place within where that feels just wonderful for you. So some people will go into a cave or into the water or under the clouds. A crystalline city like mine is like a cabin in the woods. But this is. Like a meditation and and just. Okay. Yeah. This cabin in the woods is also on the Amalfi Coast. When I go after the balcony. Right. And there's a yellow brick road that I go down, and then there's a big tree that I talk to, and there's a, there's water and there's standing stones. So we build this out so that our mind has, our mind can get on board and trust it because our mind always needs to be on board. And then we go within. And so like, for example, this morning with, we are recording this on the Lionsgate so that this energy is very open. I went in and I worked with the flames that exist within my cabin in the woods, like it's it's a little bit of, it's a little bit hard to explain, but it's about kind of coming into that soul essence within you with these places that you can go to and people that you can talk to and beings that you can talk to and commune with. And, it's pretty exciting. That, okay, so you can just talk to your team. Yeah. And you can just ask questions and then listen for the answers. How do you know that you're not making up that answer I always struggle with that. How do you know. Like how it, how it feels. Yeah. It will feel if it feels like it's, constricting you or it feels kind of off, you'll know that. Okay. I need to take some breaths and I need to center and ask that again. But if it feels expansive or you get the answer before you've even finished asking the question, then you know it's coming from something beyond you. what else should we know about this team or these these beings that help us? We're connecting with them. Is there anything else that we should know? You know, take a look at your dreams. What are you dreaming about? How or what's what's coming up for you in your dreams? Because this is another place where we're connected. But maybe we're not remembering. We're not totally conscious of what's happening. And take a look at them from the perspective of, oh, is there some some one trying to help me, bring me messages in this dream? Is it something that's helping me to expand in some way? Oh man, it's hard to remember your dreams sometimes, though, isn't it? How do you can you do, like, some kind of exercise or meditation to try to remember your dreams better? I actually, I have, a meditation, it's called Dream Waker and it's on, Insight timer. Oh, you do? I use Insight Timer. I would just used it this morning. There we go. It's called Dream Waker, and it's if listen to it before bed, it helps you to, kind of become more conscious of your dreams. More of that lucid dreaming. Do you? Is that, the only one you have on insight? Insight timer? For those of you who don't know, is an app that you just can put on your phone and it's there's a free version, there's an upgraded version, but I yeah. Yeah, I just have recently gotten on it. It's only been a month or so. And I think, I've got some I've got a meditation to meet with a loved one in spirit. So to go through and meet with a loved one. And then I also have, I'm not sure if you've ever heard of it, but some light language activations, if you've ever heard of light language. I'm not sure, I guess not. What's that? So yeah. So light language is a as a cosmic channeled language. It comes through, my angelic being and it's a a language that bypasses the thinking mind and goes straight into our energetic bodies. So it's all about healing and activation. So it's a form of channeled healing is what it is. Okay. And so we can find all of those. Do we can we just search you by your name on Insight Timer or. I believe so, yeah. Okay. That's so cool. All right. Well, is there, what's your just one best piece of advice, then, for aging? Well, You know, find ways to, to be at peace, to be still, to calm the anxiety that you're experiencing and just be really super kind to yourself. Yeah. I think people are not kind to themselves. People say things to themselves that they would never say to another person, right? I always say, if we said half the things we say to ourselves, we would have no friends. Right? Yes. I think that's really good advice. Is there a best piece of advice you've ever received? Oh my gosh. Boy, that's actually a tough one. I think maybe if we're. If we're looking at aging, the best place for aging. It doesn't have to be about aging can be anything. I think. I think it's just about about loving and trusting yourself. Because when you love and trust yourself, you love and trust others, and you love and trust life. And I had a teacher tell me that once and I thought, yeah I think that's what it's all about. Yeah. It seems so and then what do you have a favorite health or beauty product. I'm all about I think there's a lot of toxins in our world. So I'm all about trying to do everything as organic and and, toxin free as possible. I'm Canadian. I can tell. There is a, a beauty line called beauty from bees. That, beauty. From bees. That a mum has, made. She lives in a small town in my province, and, her first child had terrible allergies. And so she came up with this entire nontoxic, organic line of skincare and hair care and makeup, and, yeah, she's got my undying devotion. Yeah, well, you have luminous skin. Well, it's probably just part of your disco going. On over there. You you you're glowing from the inside out from all your things. Do you have a favorite concert you've ever been to? You know, I was lucky enough to see Billy Joel when I was, like, 19 years old, and he was just still a young. And, I mean, he's still wonderful now. But just being a pianist and watching him on the piano and and his songs are so about life. I love that. I'm a huge pink fan, and I just saw her in a big stadium concert flying all over. Yeah. She's amazing. She does all the aerial acrobatics. Yeah, she's. I love the concert, so I do too. I saw Cher back in the day. Oh, gosh. You know, that. Must have been wild. Yeah, yeah, I've seen Billy Joel a few times, and he is incredible. Have you seen his, documentary that's on HBO right now? Yeah, I just came out. Yeah, yeah, I'm in the middle of watching the second one. It's long, but it's good. It's it's really it's really good. And I think my other I've actually seen Garth Brooks like four times. Oh, really? Yeah. He's a great showman isn't he? I've never seen him. I would like to see him. I like him a lot, actually. Yeah. I was, my sister treated me too when he was doing his one man show in Vegas, and it was just him and his guitar and a stool, and he told his life through song. It was incredible. Oh, I bet that was good. Yeah. Oh, my gosh, your thing is flashing yellow is crazy. The frame on the thing that's supposed to be lighting up purple is yellow when you talk. I don't even know what to say. You are. You're the real deal. I mean, honestly, I've had. Do you know who Sophy Burnham is? She wrote, I think it's called A Book of Angels. Sounds familiar. Yeah, we had her on and she was talking about it, but she didn't light up. Different color system. But, I mean, this is incredible. Well, Laurie, thank you so much for talking to us today. You've just been. I mean, to say you've been a light is really like an understatement. I love talking to you. Thank you. I'll have to have you back. You are so welcome. What an enjoyable conversation. Love that. Take care. All right. Bye bye. Thanks for listening, friend. From my heart to yours. Be well. Until we meet again.
